Linda has a Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Professional Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, a Level 9 Certificate in Perinatal Mental Health & has recently completed the Perinatal IPT Training with the IPT Institute (Interpersonal Psychotherapy Institute). Linda also has additional specialised training in Fertility Counselling and is a professional member of the Irish Fertility Counsellors Association (IFCA). In this training Michelle with cover creating personalized, trauma-informed birth plans that empower clients and increase feelings of safety and agency, developing skills in recognizing trauma activation patterns specific to the perinatal context and implementing effective real-time interventions, and practical "Trauma CPR" techniques to ground clients experiencing flashbacks, dissociation, or acute trauma responses during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum care. You'll gain insight into how previous reproductive trauma affects current pregnancy experiences and birth expectations, while also building your own resilience as a practitioner witnessing and supporting clients through potentially triggering experiences. Ideal for midwives, doulas, obstetricians, nurses, mental health professionals, social workers, and all practitioners supporting individuals through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

Michelle holds a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy as well as a Higher Diploma in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and a level 9 Certificate in Perinatal Mental Health. Michelle has additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT), Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy, and Parent-Infant mental health through the Anna Freud Centre in London and is currently training in Somatic Psychotherapy. She has a particular interest working with perinatal mental health, postnatal depression, traumatic births, perinatal loss, and anxiety. ADHD is often misunderstood, especially in women—and even more so during the major life transition of motherhood. This presentation explores how ADHD uniquely impacts women during pregnancy and the postpartum period, highlighting the role of fluctuating hormones, identity shifts, and increased cognitive and emotional demands. We’ll examine common challenges and symptom presentations, as well as the often-overlooked experience of sensory overwhelm and maternal guilt. Through clinical insights and a real-world case vignette, attendees will learn practical, compassionate strategies for supporting neurodivergent mothers in a way that validates their experience and honors their strengths.
Danielle is a licensed clinical therapist, certified perinatal mental health specialist, certified mental health and nutrition clinical specialist, wife, mom, and woman of many additional roles. Previously a school counselor, Danielle’s personal experience with (undiagnosed) postpartum depression as well as postpartum anxiety ignited her desire to support birthing parents and spread awareness about Perinatal Mental Health. While learning more about the field, Danielle volunteered as a local support coordinator for Postpartum Support International. She then started her private practice, providing therapy and support for women during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Over the years she has broadened her area of specialty to include motherhood anxiety and burnout, as well as ADHD. She has proudly worked as a consultant at local hospitals, assisting with care coordination for patients and alerting physicians and staff to best practices. She has given presentations to large corporations such as Blue Cross Blue Shield about the importance of Perinatal care and has remained involved with Postpartum Support International as a board member of the PSI Michigan Chapter as well as at a national level as the past Professional Outreach Coordinator. Currently, Danielle has the privilege of chairing the Advisory Council for the Jewish Fertility Foundation Detroit Chapter. She is also a Brown University ROSE certified instructor.

Helen (RPN, MSc) is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Prescriber in Perinatal Mental Health and has worked in this role in The Coombe Hospital since 2019. She is a graduate of the School of Nursing & Midwifery and has 11 years Psychiatric Nursing experience working within the Irish Adult Mental Health Services in Acute, Community and Rehabilitation Services, specialising in Perinatal Mental Health over the last 5 years. She has a Postgraduate Diploma in Perinatal Mental Health and a Master’s of Science in Mental Health and is a practicing Nurse Prescriber in Perinatal Psychopharmacology.

Dr ANTHONY MCCARTHY, FRCPsych, FRCPI, MSc Psychotherapy, DCH is recently retired from his post as Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist at the National Maternity Hospital, Holles St, after 28 years. He was previously a Consultant Psychiatrist at St Vincents University Hospital and Clinical Director for Dublin South East Mental Health Services. Prior to returning to Dublin, he was Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Director for Adult Mental Health at Guy’s Hospital London UK. He was a founding member and former President of the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland. He was also a member of the Registration Committee of the Medical Council of Ireland , and the Antidoping Committee of the Irish Sports Council. He did a psychoanalytic training and got his Masters in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from UCD in 1986. He also trained in Cognitive Analytic Therapy In London under the supervision of Dr Anthony Ryle.
