About The Perinatal Mental Health Institute

The Perinatal Mental Health Institute (PMHI) is dedicated to strengthening the support network for individuals and families during one of life's most transformative journeys: the path to parenthood.

While PMHI officially opened its doors in 2024, our vision and development have been in progress for over a decade, cultivated through years of clinical experience, research, and a deep understanding of the perinatal landscape.

PMHI was born from the recognition of a distinct and pressing need: the requirement for well-trained perinatal professionals equipped with specialized knowledge and skills. Despite the complexity of the perinatal period and its profound impact on mental health, there has long existed a significant gap in comprehensive training programs focused specifically on this critical time. PMHI is actively working to fill this void, creating pathways for professionals to develop expertise in addressing the unique challenges faced during pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood.

At the core of our institute is our commitment to education and professional development.

We believe in a holistic, compassionate approach to perinatal mental health that honors the unique experiences of each individual and family. Our evidence-based methodologies combine clinical expertise with the latest research, ensuring that the professionals we train are equipped to provide the highest standard of care.

Through our growing community of trained professionals, PMHI aims to create a ripple effect of positive change, ultimately ensuring that no parent navigates the challenges of the perinatal period without access to knowledgeable, empathetic support.

Rebecca Reddin is the Founder of the Perinatal Mental Health Institute.

As a Chartered Psychologist and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialist with Postpartum Support International, Rebecca is passionate about the creating in-depth, powerful, and evidence based trainings that explore the complexities of the transition to parenthood; including everything from the expected clunkiness of Matrescence, to the intense impact of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and everything in between. The Mission of PMHI is to provide those who support Mothers and Families in this transition with the knowledge, understanding, and skills to effectively support those they serve, as well as to provide ongoing support in their professional development.
